“In my paintings, I try to convey that all that exists
is part of a universal and inexplicable whole.
We are not formed as finished and static entities, but are rather constantly evolving masses of energy continually in flux.”
Steve Carpenter studied at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts, the Art Center School of Design in Los Angeles, and the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris. His early career included work for Walt Disney and work as a freelance illustrator in Europe. He has studied extensively in European museums, focusing on paintings of the Old Masters. Steve painted and taught in Europe for over 30 years. His work has been exhibited internationally in 11 countries as well as locally. His patrons have included Princess Grace and Prince Rainier III of Monaco.
Steve is the proprietor of the Steve Carpenter Studio and Art Center. The school is modeled after the European “l’atelier de peintre.” Its goal is to create an atmosphere where students are encouraged to seek their full artistic potential. His students cover all ages, abilities and work in all mediums. See his web site for further information.
